With over 500 episodes produced, Saturday Night Live is still one of the few places on television where viewers can enjoy a perfect mixture of sketch comedy and musical performances. Considering how popular the show has become, it's no wonder SNL welcomes major celebrities and diverse musical acts year after year.

Each episode has its own page in The Archives. In addition to listing all guests, it also provides a sketch-by-sketch summary of the episode, with role information on all individuals appearing in each sketch. Names of cast members, recurring characters, impressions, and recurring sketches link to their corresponding pages.

Names of non-cast individuals in each sketch are color-coded as follows:

Hosts  appear in red
Musical guests  appear in green
Special guests  appear in aqua
Cameos  appear in purple

The views allow you to customize what role information is displayed in the summary. Click on any of the numbered tabs on the top of the page to choose.

1   sketch titles only - no role information is displayed
2   cast member roles only
3   host roles only
4   musical guest roles only
5   special guest roles only
6   cameo roles only
7   cast recurring characters only
8   cast impressions only
9   all role information

Choosing the PHOTOS view will display screen captures of selected segments.

Move your mouse pointer over the host bumper to see the musical guest bumper, if one is available.

The easiest way to start browsing the episodes is to follow a link on one of the Seasons pages. Once you've reached an episode page, you may browse backward or forward chronologically.

A text-only list of episodes is also available.
